Who We Can Help

As the core of our client base has come from personal recommendations, we have a broad range of client types. Our time in the industry gives us an understanding of a wide variety of situations and knowledge that is backed up by experience.

We have found our clients have initially been attracted by our investment approach and the strength of our firm but have stayed with us because we seek to provide a fair, unbiased and independent approach to investing, as well as a clear, friendly and highly personal service.

Many clients hold multiple investment portfolios and we can consider how these work together to provide a cost-efficient service.

We are highly experienced in transferring investments from other firms into a new portfolio here. This can usually be done without exposing you to lots of administration, and in a way where we can transfer investments into your portfolio without needing to sell them, whilst also continuing to provide a full Capital Gains Tax service.

Where agreed with you, we will work closely with other professional partners such as, Financial Advisers or Solicitors, to provide you with an efficient, joined up experience.

Individuals and Families

Our new clients often have an existing investment portfolio or cash arising from inheritance, gifts from family business sales, or wealth that has been built up over the years. Whilst most clients have joined us based on our reputation or through a recommendation – they have one thing in common: they are looking for professional management, either for new investments or for an existing portfolio where they are concerned about the capability of their existing investment management firm. The investments may be held as a General Investment Portfolio, within ISAs or other investment wrappers including pensions and trusts.

We typically find that our clients span multiple generations, which we consider when managing their portfolios alongside any financial planning requirements.

Pensions

Our core pension offering is for SIPP portfolios. Generally these have been funded through employee and employer pension contributions, or defined benefit transfers.  We are, however, also used to looking after pensions that have been subject to sharing orders.

Trusts and Charities

We run a number of trusts and are able to look after the varying requirements of the beneficiaries in conjunction with the trustees.  We are also able to facilitate both FATCA and Legal Entity Identifier compliance in respect of satisfying the legal obligations imposed on Trustees.  In relation to charities, we are finding that more and more people are now setting up their own charities, either due to a specific interest or a desire to benefit others in the event of their death. We are very familiar with these situations and are able to work in conjunction with charity trustees in both the management of the portfolio and discussions as to any ethical or charitable restrictions that should be considered. We also have experience in working with larger charities.

Court of Protection

We are finding that as life expectancy increases, Court of Protection cases are being passed across to us on a more regular basis. Our experience in this area will help to ensure that you have appointed both a reputable and competent investment firm to manage any investment assets.

Offshore Bond Investors

Managing offshore bonds requires consideration both of the eligibility of the underlying investments held within the bond and the tax impact of withdrawals.

Business Owners

We work with individuals that have received substantial sums following business sales, or may be in the process of brokering a business sale. This can often present a fresh challenge in respect of a refocus of personal interests, as well as a refocus of financial arrangements. We offer a pragmatic approach and have found that some broader independent financial planning is also important in these cases.

Executors and Power of Attorney

We deal with many individuals who are administering the estate of a deceased individual or looking after the financial affairs of someone who has entrusted this responsibility to them. On the investment side this can pose many investment issues as well as a number of practical solutions that may not be readily apparent. We are well versed in working with both newly appointed and experienced attorneys and executors, and providing the right level of support in helping them manage this responsibility.
